Roles of Volunteers

Our Bishop requires that two people be present with Jesus

every hour of every day in order for our Chapel to remain open continually.

To maintain this we need a few different types of volunteers.

Committed Adorer or Committed Co-Adorer


What is a COMMITTED ADORER?

An individual that commits to a specific hour of each week to Adore Jesus Exposed in the Blessed Sacrament at a Perpetual Adoration Chapel 


What is a COMMITTED CO-ADORER?

A second individual that commits to a specific hour of each week to Adore Jesus Exposed in the Blessed Sacrament at a Perpetual Adoration Chapel 


What is expected of me if I wish to be an Adorer?

  • to arrive at your scheduled time and to remain present in the chapel until the next person(s) arrives, one hour later.
  • to find a substitute Adorer in the event that you are not able to be there. (a list of substitutes is available)

Substitute Adorer


What is SUBSTITUTE ADORER?

An individual that makes themselves available to substitute for another Adorer.


What is expected of me if I wish to be a Substitute Adorer?

  • Be available to cover occasional hours of Adoration for another Adorer

(You may state what days/time frames work best for you)

Coordinator


What is an COORDINATOR?

A contact person that is responsible for one of the 24 hours of the day, every day throughout the entire week.   Example: 2am – 3am, Sunday- Saturday


What is expected of me if I wish to be a Coordinator?

  • to act as a liaison between the Chapel Committee and your specific team of Adorers
  • to help your team of Adorers find substitutes as needed
  • to communicate any gaps in Chapel coverage to the Head Coordinator
  • to attempt to fill hours that become vacant (no committed Adorer/s) in your specific hour
  • to cover vacant hours yourself in your specific hour if/when possible
